how should i change my hair colour from red (dyed) back to dark blonde(natural)?
I have had dyed red hair for about 6 months, i would really like to go back blonde, any suggestions on how best to do this (at home myself)?

you need to firstly make sure that this is something that you DEFINATELY want to do as it may be a lengthy process (red is the 2nd hardest colour to get out after black) and you will need to use a colour removal system like Goldwell: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLDWELL-SYSTEM-HAIR-COLOR-d... to remove the artificial colour safely with minimal damage. you will more than likely have orange hair after that process (your natural undertones after hydrogen peroxide) so you will need to use an ASH blonde shade (the blue base of ash should help neutralise the orange to leave you with a fairly neutral shade) strand testing is a must of course because if the orange can't be neutralised with colour then you will need to use bleach in order to lighten a shade or 2 before adding the toner.

If you hair is red now you should dye your hair with wash out or permanent dye to a natural blond or a deep blond that you can get from your local supermarket. Keep doing this untill you natural hair colour grows back.

I went to my hairdresser to change my shoulder length hair from dyed red to blonde and was advised that only bleach will lift it.
I did have it done, but it was very harsh on the hair and had to get it cut regularly until I had grown out all of the harsh bleach. It took about 2 years, but it is great now.

I dont think there really is away to do it without turning ORANGE.
Your best bet would be to go to a salon get them strip the colour from your hair and then get it highlighted/dyed back to a nice blonde colour.
Its really the only way.

i always dye my hair, and when I want to get it changed from light to datk, the only option is to go to d hairdressers to get it stripped. they put some chemical in it which gets rid of the dye, then they put another semi permanent colour in that matches your real colour.
It can be quite pricey, but if you go to the hairdressing classes they do it for much cheaper, and its just as good as getting it done by a stylist. Your hair may not be your exact colour at first, but after your next rip to the hairdressers it will be perfect!!

well its gonna take a while because red is the hardest color to get out. If you dye it, it will come out probably a strawberry blonde. This is exactly what happened with my friend.

im not sure about at home doing it but if you go too the hairdressers they can strip it for you and then like 2 weeks or so later you can die it or they can die natural ish colour or you can just wait couple weeks and it will come back =) xx

dont even tackle it alone if you bleach it you wont get rid of all the colour you need to seek professional advice or grow out the colour to a length you dont mind having it cut to

I think blonde hair is sexiest, but brown hair can end up being really sexy too. Black hair is actually never sexy. It's just really dull and boring and flatters few constitution. Blonde hair looks best with blue eyes.
