Why the US recession?

Can it be explained in simple terms for my simple mind? I try reading articles like "Subprime mortgage industry collapse" & I can't understand half the words!

I'm in Asia btw, but i keep hearing "u.s. recession" on the news.

    Part of the normal economic cycle - the economy expands then contracts. Boom and bust.

    Thinking people say it is a planned operation by social engineerists wishing to bring the USA into a more socialistic European model.

    The currency is being devalued every day. It's not that oil prices are going up, but your dollar is becoming more worthless. Eventually there will be a world currency that is easier to control.
