Has anyone ever heard a sonic boom and if so when?

I was wondering if anyone ever heard a sonic boom that was never explained. If you did do you have any idea on what it might have been? Where I live in Ohio two have occured, but never made it into the newspapers.

Hear them everyday at work. Work F-15 Flight Test.

Standard Test Flight profile required going Supersonic. Usually done at high enough altitude, as to not cause any problems, but still very audible on the ground.

Why would a sonic boom make the newspaper?

It is a normal occurrence - and not newsworthy.

Do you have a military base nearby? That is the most likely reason for a sonic boom.

    Don't fret - it's okay.

We heard one when we watched a space rocket take off from Cape Canaveral when on holiday in Florida.

Hope this helps and have a good day ;-)

I used to hear them most everday as Concord flew to the USA from Heathrow. Usually the bang came as they flew out of UK airspace off the North Cornwall coast.

NO SONIC BOOMS HAPPEN WHEN THE PLAIN MOVES FASTER THEN THE SPEED OF SOUND
