Both children are the product of a one-night stand. Carly and AJ Quartermaine had a drunken one-night stand that produced Michael, but she lied and told everyone that Jason was the father. At the time, Carly didn't even know Sonny, but she and Jason had a past sexual/love relationship and had stayed good friends, and Jason knew the baby wasn't his. He just went along with what Carly said. Eventually, Robin told AJ that the boy was his.

Cameron is Zander Smith's child...Zander and Liz were really more like friends and were never in love, but they used each other for comfort for one night. During her pregnancy, Zander's father, Cameron, was killed in a fire, and Liz named her baby after him. Zander didn't have a lot of connections to anyone...he was probably meant to be a short-term character in the beginning because he was really just an "extra" at a teen drinking party, but he had chemistry with Emily, and they had a fairly strong love story for awhile. In fact, if Emily hadn't loved him so much, she might not have fallen for Nikolas. When Em found out she had cancer, instead of having Zander watch her die from it, she wanted to convince him that she was no longer in love with him, so she asked her good friend Nikolas to pretend to be in love with her so that Zander would realize it was over. Eventually, what started out as pretend actually became real, and she and Nik fell for each other.

Michael is actually AJ's Jason's brother but he was killed by sonny a few years back after he had Micheal kidnapped Cams father is Zander Smith he was married to Emily and died in a police shoot out, it was a very sad story line. Carly lied and said Michael was Jason's then Robin told the truth when Carly Married Sonny he adopted more or less

AJ Quartermaine (Jason's brother) was Michael's biological father. Jason is Michael's uncle, and acted as Michael's father for the 1st year of Michael's life. Sonny adopted Michael when he married Carly (the 2nd time they were married, I think), and has raised Michael since he was a toddler.

Zander Smith is Cameron's father. Liz had a one night stand w/him.

Both AJ and Zander are dead.

Sonny is Michael's adopted father. But - jason helped carly raise Michael since the first day that he was born. So - you can say that Michael had two men in his life that really loves and wanted what was best for him. Cameron's real father is zander smith. Elizabeth had a one night stand with zander. I think it was three or fours years back. Plus - Emily was once married to zander too. And - that was when Emily got the breast cancer. However, during that time that Emily had the cancer - that was when Elizabeth slept with zander. Because Emily later on regretted marrying zander because she was falling in love with Nicholas at the time. Nicholas was the only one who could get through to Emily. That was time - that Emily pushed zander away.

Michael's biological father was AJ Quartermaine. Sonny adopted Michael illegally by hanging AJ on a meathook and torturing him into signing over his parental rights.

Cameron's biological father was Zander Smith from a one-night stand. He died by police fire after being framed by Jason and Courtney for murdering a cop, whom Courtney shot in the back.

Aj Quartermaine is Michaels real father but Sonny acts as his father and has raised him. Zander is the father of Elizabeth's older son.

Michael's biological parents are Carly and A.J. Quartermaine. Zander Smith is the father of Liz's son Cameron.
