even though I love Tiger as a golfer.... I still gotta take the field. It just doesn't make much sense to put money on one person, especially since he hasn't broke par in his last 5-6 rounds (counting Thursday).

It's a crapshoot betting on golf, more so than any other sport. I mean, who'd have thunk Rich Beem would've won the PGA in '03(?), or Zach Johnson at last years majors?

It's so undpredictable, a nobody or a somebody has every opportunity to win at any given time. Hell, Tiger could win a Grand Slam just as easily as for unknowns have of taking each major. That's part of the appeal, really.

Tiger is even money to win, which means it's a coin flip between him and the field, which is unheard of. I'd probably take the field.

The field. In the last 5 years, Tigger has only won the Masters 1 time. He cant win it every year just because he wants to and is playing well; look at Jack Nicklaus, Arnie, Watson, Phillip, etc....you dont think those guys wanted to win every year? You dont think they tried to fine-tune their game to be at their best for Augusta? And its the same for every major; rarely does anyone multiple times at any major; heck, a lot of great players never win one........

The field. If it loses, it won't act like a pouty-faced spoiled brat.
