How much should I charge to watch a 4 month old; 5 days a week, 9-10 hours a day?

I am a stay at home mother with a 16 month old of my own. So I have to manage them both.

I suppose it depends whos child it is and why you are looking after them. If its family and its like a favour then do it cheaper, if they are just a friend and they want you to look after bubba because they would rather that then childcare, consider the fact that thats working more then full time hours, so a weekly wage should be considered

I suggest looking in to the average cost of daycares in your area and charge a little under that in less you are licensed and schooled then you could charge the same. I pay $140 a week for my 7 month old to be in a daycare 8-9 hours a day and we were going to use an in home daycare that was licensed for $105 a week (she went back to work full time so she closed her daycare) and I have a friend that is not licensed and charges $580 a month to babysit a 4 month old full time m-f ($145)

Tough, because at 10 an hour, that would be about $780. Talk to them about how much they are thinking a good pay would be. Have an idea of the minimum you want. If they offer more, than great! If not, then negotiate a price, closer to what you want. That being said, I think you should charge about 8 an hour, daytime. So that should be about $324.

even charging $250 a week is below minimum wage, but if you feel like it's enough, and you get the advantage of staying home with your own child, then it may be a good deal for all involved. I'm a nanny who goes to the people's home(although I bring them to my house often) and I have a few household things to do for them as well, but I make $650 a week for 2 kids. I also bring 1 or 2 of my grandkids with me occasionally. BUT, you've got to make it look more attractive to them than a daycare and show them that your home is a better atmosphere and worth the extra money.

call some ads in your local paper and ask what they would charge to watch a 4 mo old for that long all week! Then ask the same!

130 dollars My daycare charges 105 for five days a week, 4 hours. You would be doing more. I wouldn't charge too much more cuz you aren't a daycare.

    175 - 200 because its a baby and 10 hours is a long day.

babysitters don't make or charge thats much so i would say $60-75 a day but i still think thats to much unless there rich.
