What do you think would be the average asking price for a golden retreiver puppy?

Your getting around the right pricing for a well bred, health screened, parents tested Puppy!

Here where I live a Golden pup with All the required testing from both parents, showed or worked and have either the CH or working titles start at 1500 and go up from there.

I do not find those prices out of touch with a high quality Golden!

If you want a pup froma BYB or some unethical person then you can get one for around 300 dollars. But plan on paying much more for vet bills, and training and what every else comes up with a pup from someone who only breeds for their pocketbook instead of improving the breed.

Why? Are you looking for a puppy or looking to breed?

EDIT: Responsible breeders breed only dogs who are show champions, have received excellents on their OFA and CERF screens, have passed all their other health and STD screens, and have a rigorous pre- and post-natal care. This all adds up to a LOT of money. So yes, it is a lot, but if you get a puppy from this kind of breeder, you are getting your money worth. Pet stores will charge that same amount for a puppy who has been bred from two extremely sick goldens who live their lives in their own poo. So you do have to do your research on breeders, but well-bred dogs are worth that amount.

those prices are for show quality aniamls. pet quality run from $200.00-$500.00.

i don't know 350-650 somewhere in there, not enough information.
