Is a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution a "Compensation Mobile?" How about if it is red?

You cannot even begin to mock the Evo, and would be hard pressed to find anything about it to mock. It's high performance, great on gas, and looks sweet. There really is no competition for it since Subaru turned their STi into a station wagon this year... All the other rubbish on the market needs to think about adding all wheel drive before they can even begin to compare how they handle in corners. For the money, you can't beat it.

Nah. IMHO a compensation mobile would be, first and foremost, large. After that, it'd have to be flashy - not in that it was painted red or yellow, but glittering in chrome, possibly lights, etc. And after that, it'd have to possess a really inflated price tag.

So due to that, to me, a compensation mobile would be more something like an H2, Mercedes SL600, etc. that was riding on a set of chromed 24's and crap like that.

LanEvo is a performance sports sedan, and red as it should be b/c all the ralliart rally racing ones are in red!

Not really, its a functional sporty 4 door sedan. I think its more of a bargain sports car. Not really in the same realm of a huge, inefficient H2.

What is a compensation mobile?

It's only a four wheeled toupee if you think it is.
