Why don't people make any sense that fight against the global warming problem??
With the prices of food and gas rising, the honey bee's dying off adding to the cost of food, along with using our crops for biodeisel, why is it thought that spending more on alternative forms of energy will be too costly by the nay sayers of global warming?? We are already in the trillions in debt over this war. Money that would have been better spent finding ways to be less dependant on oil and choking off moneys to countries that are against us. We can spend billions for NASA to explore space but, not to save our own butts!!!! Nothing done under republican rule has made a dent in our fuel prices except make many republicans richer. Need I say Hallaburton???Their are many ways to go about improving our lives making cheaper ways of travel and electricity, although they may not be cheap in the begining, as time goes on and more is produced it will be. When we have people knock things down, and deny the truth they hurt us all. To dismiss other ideas being used because of expense is BS!
If people that deny would do their homework and actually read into and study the technologies that we have available to us they might begin to realize that things are not as impossible as they say it is. Be informed and not mislead, and please next time know what you are talking about before you help spread the propaganda that you preach!!! Read up on all forms of alternative energy before you state your conclusion and then tell me which is better in the long run economically, environmentally, and safer.
So, not meaning to single you out jello but, I would like to see what you have to say with an educated response to this question for once without misleading details and propaganda!!! I hope you will finally get with the program one day but, if you dont your more than welcome to pay my gas to work, utilities, and food bill that you say is not a real problem!!!

Global warming is a natural phase of Earth, caused by some Solar Activities by Sun. We human don't have to bother about it. Some of the environmentalist says that this is because of the CO2 we are emitting into the environment, but the reality is that we are just contributing towards 1% to 10% of actual global warming.
If the actual cause of Global Warming is CO2 emitted by the humans then why Global Warming occures on other planets. Just Google for "Global Warming on other planets" and see the results, there are no humans on other planets.
Having too little CO2 in the environment will cause for the plants to die more early, more over it also cools down the temperature on earth.
Having too much CO2 (obiviously, not caused by humans. Mostly generated in the Sea/Oceans) will lead to Green House effect and will lead in increasing the temperature on Earth.
So, the best is to plant more trees so that there would be a balance for the consumption of CO2 on the planet.
I personally think that instead of thinking on this baseless issue try to think on what if Nuclear War broke out in the world, it will destroy Earth more rapidly.
So, next time whenever somebody says you about global warming, just ignore it.

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is
becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.
It's been happening for millions of years.
The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.
As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.
Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

So in other words, there is a hidden agenda behind the global warming scare.
The price of food is rising due to the increase of use of bio-fuels an attempt to fight global warming.
Where did you get the source that bees are dying because of global warming?
Other than suspicion do you have proof that the gulf war is about oil? Evidence that will convict Bush in a court of law. If such evidence did exist he would have been impeached by now.

If the global warming er, 'climate change' religionists had a clue about hard science they would realize that 'climage change' is a NATURAL CYCLE and has been occuring for hundrends of thousands of years, as evidenced by the ice cores.
This has nada to do with the honey bee issue, ozone layer, or my aunt Bessies cat.
The "consensus" of global warming "scientists" is all done with a socialist political agenda.
1. Science is not a consensus activity
2. _All_ scientists do NOT agree
3. Even the socialistic EU "scientists" are
backpedalling on their GW stance
4. Global warming, like global cooling is part of the
natural climatic cycle.
5. There have been many such cycles in Earth's
history.
6. Earth is presently in the last stages of an ice
age and was considerably warmer for most of its
history.
7. Floating ice occupies the same volume as would the
liquid water that comprises it.
8. Even if the ocean levels rise the alarmist 28
feet, just move away from the beach.
9. Warmer climate means more crop growing area.
10. Water is not going anywhere. Except for what we
have shot into space with rockets, there is the same
amount as there always was.
Thermohaline cycle
Warm water is less dense than cold water. One of the ocean currents runs North up the east coast of the U.S.
When this warm ocean water reaches the arctic ocean, it is cooled which makes it become more dense. The now dense salt water drops to the sea floor and begins its return to the southern loop of its cycle.
Fresh water from meltoff of the northern ice pack dilutes this sea water which makes it less dense.
The diluted, less dense water drops to the sea floor more slowly which slows the entire cycle.
If diluted enough, this circulation stops entirely.
When the circulation stops, then the planet will begin to cool and enter an ice age which will stop the meltoff.
As the salinity in the north Atlantic increases, the water will once again begin to sink to the sea floor and the cycle will restart and our planet will emerge from its ice age and enter another warm period.
That is happening now.
It will change.
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

The fact is that there is no global warming problem!
Have you considered the possibility that the reason you do not understand, is because you are incapable of understanding simple science?
While I have to agree with you about the waste of resources, and rising costs, I can not agree with you about some of your misguided statements like the 'honey bees dying off'!
If they are dying off in your area, it has absolutely nothing to do with current climate conditions, and is more likely to be caused by excessive use of pesticides!
I have to ask what you believe are viable alternatives to our energy needs?
While I want to see us become more self sufficient and reduce our dependency on foreign oil, I am also realistic!
Wind, tidal, solar, etc... not only come at a price, but the payback time is currently nearly impossible to reach.
By the time the 'break even' point is realized, it is time to be replaced!
If you are willing to live without electricity 24 hours a day, and are willing to accept unscheduled power cuts for undetermined lengths of time(possibly lasting several days), and are willing to lose the use of your computer, TV, etc.. for those lengths of time, then the so-called 'green' alternative is right for you.
I do not believe that most people are willing to make that kind of sacrifice however.
The only viable alternative currently, is nuclear power which scares the uneducated also.
I have to say that I am also totally pi**ed off with how we are all exploited by the big corporations, and I would love nothing better than to live long enough to see their demise, and give someone else their turn at 'ripping us off', because no matter who wins in the final struggle, their goal will be to 'Rip us off'!

You aren't making any sense. More global oil demand means higher prices. More refineries and more drilling would reduce our dependency and increase our supply but greenie legislation won't allow it. They blame big oil when the real profiteer is the government through ridiculous taxation. Food prices are rising because of idiotic government mandated inefficient biofuel production reducing our crop availability for food.
The private sector is much more effective at solutions than any government ever was.

A challenge to the liberal mindset!
Start your own business!
See how many government demigods descend on you and make it almost impossible to do business with regulations.
You might then understand why so many businesses are moving overseas.
Like 'Hallaburton' - which is now relocating to Dubai instead of Texas.

Well I am sure this isn't shocking, but the firm that made cigarettes so popular is now working on hiding the environmental problems. It's all about profits. It's expensive to convert a plant over to be green. Even if the technology exists, they won't make the jump because of the high costs. The best examples are the car plants. We have technology to build really green cars. But to convert the plants, huge overheads. The USA is falling way behind in this. Eventually they will have to convert because the competition will be so strong.
But who has the cash in the USA? Oil tycoons, and what's their common enemy? This movement to be green.
EDIT: K I love a good rant? Just ignore it? As somebody said above. That's the circular thinking that got us in this mess.
There are 6 billion people on this planet now. The waste is huge. Think of cell phones as one example. There's millions of cells buried in the ground now, and that is not slowing down anytime soon.
The buzz is 'e-waste' if you want the truth. This is the next problem we will be facing. A kazillion circuit boards, which contain heavy minerals, will ultimately destroy us all, if not addressed asap.

You do realize they're not even calling it "Global Warming" anymore, but "Climate Change" since it's been fluctuating in BOTH directions for the last 10 years?

It drives me nuts when people post on here "Why do you believe global warming exists, there is no proof!!!" And it's like...all the same the earth is not in good enough shape to let us keep living the way we are used to!
Edit: Ashish, as "natural" as global warming may be, the last phase the earth went through a) was not as drastically increased over such a short amount of time (a SPIKE since the train came about), but more importantly b) did not have humans living. There were maybe 10 actually. With the amount of people and the amount of consumption this "phase" will affect us drastically and we need to do anything we can do as individuals can help, even if it is changing it by 1%! There are a lot of people out there, using up a lot of stuff. Now, there is better stuff to use than what we are using, and we should try to use it.
