If one takes it to the extreme in that it changes your behavior over all other things - that's an addiction.
If that is all you desire and crave - that's an addiction.
If you would give up other things for a "religion fix" - that's an addiction.
Could religion lead you to lose a job, lose money, walk away from family and spouse, etc..........??? Forsake your life for it?
Sure it could.

Jesus demonstrated true faith for us and He did not exhibit the signs of an addict as far as I am concerned. If someone is addicted to religion, that is not true faith.

Faith an addiction?
Nope.

Not really, because usually an addiction consists of some material, like drugs, sex or alcohol. Faith doesn't require a physical thing.

Yes, but I would also class many uncommonly thought of things as addictions.

Yes. Theists use faith as a substitute for real human relationships and real solutions for their problems. Like a drug, it makes you feel good but your loneliness and troubles don't actually go away.

An addiction, yes, but one in which your pusher will never show up. Now that's Cold Turkey.

Yes, my mom can't even pick up my little sisters from school, without stopping in a store parking lot to get her bible fix on the way home.
It's really sad.
She doesn't care about anything, except for her next chance to ditch everyone & pray-read (the bible) real loudly in her room.
