The attraction of ID is that it is does *not* lead to progress. It is motivated by the ultimate goal of *regressing* to Grandpa's "ol' time religion". The attitude of just sitting back and admiring all God's Creation uncritically is a powerful pacifying force that extends to all aspects of science for the religious right. Rush Limbaugh recently, for example, scoffed at high energy scientists' search for the Higgs Boson (nicknamed "The God Particle" because it's suppose to be the basis for mass) suggesting they just look out the window, "They're *all* God's Particles".

I'm not one of these proponents, but I imagine the next 100 years will be spent arguing that Intelligent Design is both testable and falsifiable without ever producing so much as a rough draft to propose either.

I think we will know for certain because I believe that Christ will return before the next 100 years are up. But that is just my personal opinion.
