Blue Screen of Death Codes?
I was horrified as I got the BSoD yesterday and I can not really find anything on my error codes. I am just an everyday user and have no idea what to do now, but really don't want to take it to the shop for repair if it is something I can do. I was working on it yesterday when the screen just went to colored vert. lines. Then to b/w block pattern. Now it will go to blue screen, dump the memory and stay on the b/w screen. Anyone seen any of this before?
It is a Toshiba Tablet, Tecra with Windows XP. The codes are:
0x0000000050
0xFC33B014
0x000000000
0x804D90AA
0x000000000
No, no new RAM. No new anything. I have never touched my comp's hardware for fear of a screw up and something like this happening. Thanks guys! I am at work right now, but an taking notes so I can fix it as soon as I get back home!

Go to the following link and you can troubleshoot to your heart's content. This is a well organized BSOD code troubleshooter. I go here all the time to fix my client's systems. Look on the left side for your codes. The first code has to do with your paging file...but one of the other codes will end up being your culprit. Troubleshooting BSOD codes are more of an art than science in my opinion.
Be warned that most shops will take the "lazy" approach and tell you that you must reinstall. That is absolutely untrue.

The Blue Screen of Death is a problem everyone has a time or another. It is best to reboot the computer in Safe Mode and go to the last known good working config and start your computer from there.
If you like you can use the restore disc that comes with most computers to set your computer back to the way it was when you first bought it.
To boot up in safe mode simply click on the power button to start the computer and when you get the screen to come up where it says "click Del" at the bottom to go to set up go ahead and start pressing the F8 key. This will take you to a screen where you can choose to boot your computer in Safe Mode or Last Known Working Config. I prefer the Last Known Working Config myself but just rebooting it may work.
Just remember that any files not already saved on your computer will be lost when you do this. Good luck.
