Is it appropriate to give partying gifts when your preacher leaves?

    I assume you mean parting gifts. Yes, it's fine to give your preacher something as a thank you if you like, but it's not required. At our church we would take a free will money offering for our associate pastor when he left and most people brought cards. They also had a journal type book where people in the congregation could write messages to him.
