hmmm i dont remember names to well but i beleive you need to go to the ghost town and fight ur rival first in the ghost tower, then u need to go to celadon city *west of ghost town / left* then u go into the game corner and fight team rocket there then u beat the celadon city gym leader *grass leader* then u go back to saffron city and the guard should be asleep and u walk right in, get ur silph scope and master ball, then u go fight the saffron gym leader.

Beat Giovanni at Celadon and climb all the way to the top of Lavender town's tower to rescue someone there.
