I can't say for sure, but check your dryer hose or pipe. Whatever you have that vents outside from the back of the dryer. You could have a serious blockage of lint that can cause a fire. This may be restricting air flow and the lint isn't being sucked into the vent screen. check it out right away.

Have you checked to see if the screen has been clogged, by the "stuff" that comes from dryer sheets? Take it out, and hold it under a faucet and see if water runs through it. If not, give it a good scrub with soap and water to take off the film that dryer sheets and fabric softener will cause to build up. If that is the problem, then your lint may have been building up in the back of the dryer. So you would have to take the back off of the dryer in that case, and clean that, plus the vent. I am surprised that more of us, don't burn our houses down with dryers. The lent can build up around the heat source and cause a fire.

If no lint is collecting, that probably means air circulation is blocked by a clog. What's worse is that it probably means that your clothes are drying by HEAT ALONE, WITHOUT the air circulation. and that's a dangerous fire hazard.

If you don't understand dryers--and believe me, even my electric engineer husband had difficulty installing our gas dryer--call a Kenmore repairman TODAY. Check your warranty to see if you're covered.

If it's an old dryer, it might be worth replacing because the new ones are more energy efficient anyway.

But DON'T MESS WITH THIS ONE. Lots of house fires start from clothes dryers. I know of two people who lost children this way--and a classmate who lost her life with them.
