why do american kids seem to look older?

Could be all the steroids/growth hormones in our meat and dairy products. Our scientists have developed a way to make our cattle grow at super rates. We are the living test subjects to see if it's deadly or not. Our wonderful FDA has just approved cloned cattle to be used too. If we all croak.....don't eat the beef!

A lot of American Kids do look a lot older. When I was 11 I looked the age I am now (17) I think A lot of it has to do with the way parents let their kids dress now a days. They let them dress what I would think to be slutty and let them wear make-up WAY to early. A lot of kids now are maturing a lot faster as well. More 13-14 yr olds are having kids which makes them think they can dress how they want and do what they want without regards to their childs needs or their parents rules

haha iv noticed that too. whenever i head out of the country i have people thinking im at least 17, as i just turned 15 this is just a bit off. i think its becuase in our society there are age restrictions for every thing, and from a very young age we start trying to look older so we wont be dismissed. this means we change our appearince sooner than say, the aussies. for instance all of my friends started to were makeup at age 11, heels at 14, and so on...

they put a lot of stress on that real beauty is what they see a lot in the media ( 20 something beautiful actors and actresses)

kids dont want to look young becuase people wont take them seriously, they wont feel as beautiful

miley looks like a chipmunk with a ton of makeup plastered on

i am 16 and i look my age i think...at most i look about nineteen

when i was in eighth grade i went to visit my sister at the University and they thought i was a freshman there...hahah crazy stuff man.

Well, it's America's society. The stuff teens and kids see on TV is open to them, and influences them to act/look/dress older than they really are. It's not only America though, it's many other places around the world as well. It's just this generation!!!

I know, I hate it too! Kids and teens are acting waay to mature.

Cause of all the hormones in our food that are making kids go through puberty way early and so making there body's look older faster

yes i totally get what ur talking about..i think its to help them get noticed for jobs in the business world. they have to relate to older teens and twenty something people for more rang than just young teens. and young teens look up to them bc they think they are awesome. im from usa and i think some normal kids feel they have to look older but there are still kids who look they're age. thank god. but yah i think its bc of the pop cultural.

maybe because of the diet because some asians look really young and i personally think b/c of how asians eat. (no offense to the asians cuz i am asian) but miley cyrus doesn't look 19 u crazy?

Remember this is t.v., so a lot of makeup goes on. Plus we eat a lot of food stuffed with steroids, so that may be a factor as well.
