What song is this one (possibly two) hit wonder from the 80's (or early 90's).
It's by a female singer (though may be a band) and she's talking about dancing to the music and/or groove.

I do remember that was somewhat obscure. It did receive moderate airplay in it's heyday.

The song was more techno then dance.

The first name that popped into my head was C & C Music Factory...Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now). My source listed is the music video for you to see if that is the song you were thinking of.
My second link is Dee-Lite's Groove Is In The Heart. That might be it too.
