2004 -- not for the actual playmaking or the in-game drama. It was a sweep, and after Game 1 it was all about the Red Sox pitching sitting down the Cardinals. No, the overall story ruled here, The One We Had Waited All Our Lives For, and it was sooooo worth it.

1991 -- simply supertense baseball, all seven games. By Game 7, you'd nibbled your fingernails down to the fourth joint.

2002 -- it was The Barry Show!, and man, did he put on a show.

And it's hard, really hard, to push aside other October gems like 1975 and 2001 and 1979.

The single best moment (other than Foulke lobbing the ball to Mienkiewicz) belongs to 1988 though. You've seen it, you know it, you love it (or loathe it).

1998 Yanks Vs Padres (only because it was the Cherry on top of the Greatest sports season ive ever been graced to watch)

2004 Red Sox vs Cards (i DESPISE the Sox and they basically bent my Yankees over getting there, but it was a monumental moment in sports, the"Curse" was lifted)

1996 Yankees Vs Braves (because after going down 2-0 in the sereies, and reading all the Garbage being said about how overmatched the yankees were by the GREAT Braves, ugh... 3 straight in Atlanta, and a title is Achieved in the stadium)

The one I remember is 1968 Detroit-St. Louis. Bunning won three games, Detroit won 4 games to 3. Bob Gibson lost one game 2-1 and had 17 strikeouts. Denny McClain won 31 games that year.
