An inconvient truth for Al Gore's inconvient truth?

Al Gore was so inspired by professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT Kerry Emanuel's research that he devoted the iconic front cover image of his 2006 movie An Inconvenient Truth to his warning, portraying a hurricane emerging from a Co2-belching smokestack. Unfortunately, Emanuel has completely recanted his position and now admits that hurricanes and storms will actually decline over the next 200 years and have little or no correlation with global temperature change whatsoever.

Whoever said we are insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe was correct. However our planet is not the universe, and we are not insignificant in comparison to it. Whatever intricacies about the movie may or may not be open to debate doesn't matter. The message is still the same. Like it or not, this planet is all we got. Why not take better care of it?

This is not quite accurate. What he has said is that it cannot be now known if global warming will have an impact on hurricane strength. What is important is that he does not deny that global warming is happening, or that human activity is a contributing factor.

Global Warming-Global Cooling. Doesn't really matter, because we can not do anything about either one, we are insignificant to the greater universe, just a small speck on this planet and we will one day be extinct. What does matter is that during our brief time on this planet, we attempt to maximize our impact and lifespan by taking care of our host the best we can, meaning conserve and be responsible. To do otherwise will only hasten our departure from the Universe.

You should watch the movie and not plagarize second sources. The thrust of the film is focused primarily on the effects of melting icebergs to water supplies and coastal regions.

In that respect, your characterization of the film is skewed, and that sent me facts-checking your other comments.

It turns out, you are mischaracterizing Kerry Emanuel as well.

Kerry Emanuel never made any of the comments you attribute to him, and I suggest you visit his home page:

    ROFLMAO

    Whimsy wrote "Climate science evolves"...

What happened to Global Warming being well-settled? Everyone being in complete agreement? The facts being irrefuteable?

The "science" behind Global Warming being linked to Man wouldn't stand up to the judges of a Junior High Science Fair.

I work with one of the co-authors of the paper that one the Nobel Peace Prize with Gore and the UN. It's a very real thing. However, even if you do have any doubts, why on earth would you not be interested in being more environmentally friendly? It's cheaper in the long term and preserves a healthy future for our children.

I hope you come to learn that this global warming scare tactic is nothing more than a maneuver to gather the entire globe under one umbrella. The globalists will use this as leverage as they attempt to pass "global laws" as we secretly move toward a one world government.

100 years of pollution will not alter the way our million (or billion, or 6 thousand - whatever you believe) year old earth changes in the manner the Al Gore's speak of. The magnetic variations of the earth have constantly been changing....I guess we need a reason to blame that on too .... right?

Bottom line: Global Warming = More Governmental Control.

You're just another one of those kooky conspiracy theorists who believes there is a plot to keep the world safe for future generations. Give it a rest.

So? Climate science evolves and merely because our perceptions may change about the intricacies of how climate change may manifest, this does nothing to undercut the position of anthropogenically-induced atmospheric chemistry change at all.

Yep, and I noticed Gore has yet to say one word about yesterday's story.

(Also noticed they ran that story on Sunday before noon - when the least amount of people are paying attention to news.)
