INDIAN SCIENTISTS PRIDE–CHEAP WATER AND ELECTRICITY FROM SEA WATER -unique transportation?

Low Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) and Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) innovative technologies (difference between surface water and the water at a depth of 200 metres – perhaps season like monsoon, winter, cyclone will not hinter the production) developed by NIOT will answer to Global demand for in-expensive Electricity Power/energy and drinking water – even after half a billion investment -- product COST IS LESS THEN 10 (TEN) paise (equal 0.25 [zero point two five] US cents) – real magic.

Platform at 20 to 30 KMS deep into the sea just like Bombay High Oil Platform will be costing about Rs.200 Crores (about 500 million US dollars). Desalinated water will be filled into water bags with carrying capacity of 20 lakhs litres.

Effective and cheap mode of cheap transportation:

Since density of pure water is less than that of seawater, the Bags with 20 lakhs litres of desalinated water will stay afloat and easy to tow the bags to the shore by boat. LTTD is better than desalination using the Reverse Osmosis technology. Regarding transmission of electricity from 30 kms. From deep sea-to-sea shore is not at all an issue. All these need to be seen only when production is started!

Update:

thanks Mr. AK

I appreciate your remarks.

Look at investment cost, seasonal changes, ocean environments vs cost of product assumed.

the mode of transportation viz. 20 lakhs litres of water packed in bag will have a free float and can be towed by a boat..

the article on LTTD was published in leading dailies.

people in India believe everything - cheap electricity with the above technolgy promised about 15 years back with an investment of hundreds of crores never took off. now with the same technology new avatar of cheap drinking water called LTTD.

People have very short memory - luck for many.

people believe only politicians gives empty promises - many others joined in this team.
