I have $50,000 is this enough to open my own custom car shop up?

If I have to i would start off small, with just selling car audio, installing stero systems, doing window tinting.

is this profitable?

any tips or idea for more stuff to do in the shop?

thanks for any help

Real estate varies. There are a lot of factors. Believe me, a lot. Such as how conveniently-located your real estate is. If it is in a high-traffic area the real estate will be expensive but you will get the customers in droves. If that's in a big city (or even a small one, these days) the rent will chew up your money fast. Don't spend that much money without doing a lot of research on where you want to put it. Research real estate prices in different areas, and when you can find the ideal spot, take it. Remember that a lot of businesses go under because they can't pay the rent for their shop. So you might have to go where your work takes you.

Of course, you want to put your business somewhere that will attract customers AND doesn't have much (or any) competition.

Once you have your business up and going, you want to do as much promotion as possible. There are lots of different things you can do.

Yeah, start out small. I'd suggest rims after your business takes off. Find a wholesaler of specialty rims, those are popular and profitable. Sell solid gold rims.

Yeah probably, there are a lot of people who get that sort of stuff, I use too when I had a car, but with the interest rates and petrol and food prices being up, people dont have as much spare cash as they use too, so it would be a wise decision to hold off on that idea for awhile, that being said, people cant get water tanks quick enough or their cars converted to gas to this could be an area that might be worthwhile looking into, but see your local bank manager first and get his opinion and expertise for free, hope this helps you, goodluck!

You can start that business with $10,000 if you wanted to.

Is this profitable? Well honestly, any business venture can be profitable if you examine the demographic properly, and it helps if you can offer innovation.

Any tips? Well, if you can answer this question: What are you more enthusiastic about - starting a business, or working in the car shop industry? They're apples and oranges! With any business, you need two completely different skill sets: Your trade (in this case cars), and business skills. If you want business skills, you can get it :)

I always love to hear about when people want to pursue what they're passionate about, and it seems that you're already taking the right steps! Good luck, you will be a success!
