Sensory guided intuition or something else?

Have you ever had an experience where you are sleeping and wake up out of a deep sleep to some sort of reaction to your sences? Ex: I was sleeping and smelt like someone had lit a wooden match and blew it out right in front of my nose. I smelt the sulfer smell and woke up. I looked around and saw nothing so I went outside and saw some of the grass on fire. Was it my intuition trying to get up and react in that way? Was it just a dream when it seemed so real that made me react?

This has happened before aswell but with other things, a stong smell of rose petals, the smell of rain, etc. is this my mind or is it something more parinormal?
