What are some cool dog tricks?

I used to work with a lady who would tell her dog "Clean Up!" and he would gather all of his toys and put them into a bin. Hilarious.

Here's a link to a cool web site that has lots of great tricks that you can teach your dog. It sounds like he'll catch onto them really quick and it will be fun for both of you. Complete instructions are included, which is why I'm giving you link instead of explaining all the tricks.

actually Maltese are very good at learning tricks, they are very smart little dogs. they try very hard to please their humans, anybody that says otherwise is ignorant of this breed of dog.

other tricks:

dance

play dead

walk backwards (that's harder than it sounds...dogs dont like to backup when they can't see behind them, it takes lots of trust)

hop on back legs

hold treat on nose

back flip.

i've taught my dog to grab a tissue when i sneeze lol. or weave in between my legs, put away her toys, pick up anything i drop, turn on lights cuz i'm lazy. i snap my finger and she gives me her toys rather than me having to pick them up, playing dead when i say bang and fake like i shot her, take a bow when i clap and applaud. those are just a few things i've taught my dog for fun.

- Bringing the Food dish to you when it needs refilling

- roll-over... not useful but oh so cute

- opening the fridge door (may not work with maltese because she/he may not be strong enough but labs can do it)

- bringing magazines to you

- bringing remote control to you

I personally like army crawl. My dog taught me that he could do it, and I had to figure out how to make him repeat it. It's useful as they can crawl and only be semi noticed, and they can crawl under fences, etc. IT'S MY FAVORITE!

we've taught our dog to lay down, roll over and lay on his back like he is dead when we point a finger at her and say 'bang!'

we've also taught him to sit and put his front paws on our knee, bow his head and say his prayers!

I LOVE dogs that sing......I have 8 dogs....and it is SO FUNNY when they sing.........they sing on cue!
