Y2k model--4runner Hood scoop? & Increase fuel efficiencies?
I just bought a 2000 SR5 4runner. This model has a stock hood scoop...I haven't seen a model like this before....So..
1) Was this model developed just for any specific state?
2) What is the function of the hood scoop, cuz there isn't anything hooked up to it under the hood...!!
3) How can I increase the gas mileage without investing too much.
Appreciate your knowledge.

That is on the Sport model, it is just for looks it serves no function.
To help with the MPG cheep way to do that is make sure the air filter is cleen and good plugs.

different fashions have countless issues. The hood scoop comes on one referred to as the "path" equipment. It has different axles and suspension then different fashions. in case you desire the posh "constrained" type this is no longer gonna have it. You gotta twist the elements guy's arm to get it particular, 'reason they purely wanna order issues by utilizing serial type of the motorized vehicle you obtain.

Just like the newer ones, it's there for looks only. They do about as much good as grease on a doorknob.
