Texas Laws concerning Dogs?

Question

Does anyone know how many dogs a person is allowed to have in the state of Texas? My neighbor has 8 dogs. They are all well taken care of, but just wondering. It is ok with me, but sometimes the barking gets on my nerves. They are a small breed, but are very pretty. They look like Lhasas.

I did google it and all I could find was leash laws, bite laws, animal cruelty laws etc. I will try to reword it and try again.

the number of dog is usually determined by the city/town you live in or if your not in a city/town then the county.  animal control should be able to tell you for sure

where i live we can have 4 dogs in town (small town) but if you live out in county you can only have 3 dogs without a kennel license.  go figure

Some times this is determined by city laws or even the home owners association.  I haven't heard anything about a "Texas Law" that limits the number of dogs one can have.

If the dogs are well taken care of, fed, shelter, water etc... It's probably not an issue.. Your neighbour however does have an obligation to keep her dogs from bothering you. Find out more about barking laws..

It's not state laws that govern how many dogs you can own, but city laws.  Check with your city laws.

Each town can determine that.  Ask your city council.  

Usually no limit if living outside city limits.

Offer to take 4 and you will both have the same amount.
