How can I get melted plastic off of my flat glass top cooking range?

Set an ice pack on the plastic, it will get hard and brittle, then use a plastic card, like an old credit card to scrap it off. Keeping half a credit card or an old ATM card that you've cut up is a great kitchen tool by the way.

Melted plastic and spilled wax are two of the most frustrating household messes to clean up.

Remove Melted Plastic

Step 1:

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat residue until it starts to soften. Use a plastic scraper to scrape off plastic residue.

Step 2:

Apply a general purpose solvent to a cloth and apply to remaining residue. With a little elbow grease, the plastic will disappear.

Step 3:

Clean the remaining melted plastic by applying small amounts of oven cleaner directly on plastic. Let it sit for a few minutes and wipe away. Make sure to spot test area plastic is melted on before applying oven cleaner to ensure the oven cleaner won't cause more damage.

i'm SOOO undesirable approximately messing up the ideal of my range. i take advantage of a razor blade scraper I have been given on the ironmongery shop. generally i will turn the range on for a minute and the purple glow will coach each and all of the undesirable spots as a results of fact the ideal is black they are not uncomplicated to work out. Then I conceal the ideal with a degreaser or different cleanser and permit it set. Then i take advantage of a scrubber and get rid of something of the junk. If i want a splash extra beneficial gunk kicker i take advantage of oven cleanser. those glass tops are fantastically good. I promise you which you haven't any longer ruined it!
