Christians: What made you decide to give your life to Christ?

An overwhelming desire to avoid hell in the afterlife.

A world that only told me I was good for nothing, would amount to nothing and my life was useless. I bought into it part of my life and hit rock bottom. So, the only thing left to do was look up and reach up to the one that truly loved me for who I was. It was then I discovered that I bought into the lies and deceit of this world. Talk about a total revolution in my life, after understanding the tricks and lies of the devil that is in this world. Yep, been there done that and I ain't going back. The love of Jesus Christ has shown me that I am loved and that I do matter in his eyes, and that the opinions of this world doesn't matter.

Some will read this and say "leave your testimony for church time", but the devil is a liar and will do anything to discount and mock the power of love and truth. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who speak what they believe will eat their words, be it blessings or cursings.

The fact that circumstances in my life were not getting any better. I had tried doing things my way and they all ended in error so why not try the One that created me. I've been a follower of Christ since July 2006 and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
