What does P.S. stand for?
I write it all the time in letters but I still do not know what it stands for/means! Thank you.

Same as above. Post Script. Post meaning after. If you want to add another note after your p.s., it would be p.p.s., not p.s.s like I've seen.
By the way (and this is free), RSVP stands for "Répondez s'il vous plaît". It's French for "have the frickin' courtesy to let me know if you're coming or not..."

Same as what everyone else said. "P.S." is an abbreviation of postscript from the Latin post scriptum meaning written after. On a letter it is put after a signature, symbolizing any noteworthy "after thoughts" ranging from a single word to many paragraphs to an attachment, such as another document or an image, that you had after signing but before sending. One thing I've noticed from studying abroad is that If you want to add another note after your p.s., in the US you would put p.s.s; in most other countries you would put p.p.s.
p.s.: Also, as a native french speaker, "Répondez s'il vous plaît" is literally "please respond if you are to join me or not" ... 😉 nothing more, nothing less.

P.S. stands for personal secret from the latin words personalis intumus meaning something about you, you wouldn't say to everyone.

P.S. is an abbreviation of postscript from the Latin post scriptum meaning written after. Its common usage is after the signature in a letter (or modern times an email) to add to the letter. Postscript can be anything from a word, sentence, to many paragraphs.
