He just died. Does anyone else know who he is, or has anyone else read his poems? What do you think of him or his work?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aim%C3%A9_C%C3%A9sair... says that he was a communist at one time and then in 1956 renounced the party. He is most noted for his treatment of Black subjects. What little poetry I have read indicates profound statements that had little meaning to me because they were written in the context of his day AND the fact they are English translations from French. Anyway, something for me was lost in the process.
