Hummus does come sold in a jar... So I will venture you can can it. If you freeze your hummus, the consistency will change a bit; the chick peas will turn a little grainy and the moisture will separate, so make sure you stir it really well. I don't think it's the same, honestly. But you can freeze it.

Hummus can be frozen in an air-tight container for up to 6 months. I don't know about canning however. I'd stick with freezing if I were you.

if you are just freezing it for up to a month you can put it in a container
but if freezing for longer, sounds wierd, but put it into a ziplock baggie, and press all the air out so that it is vacume tight, that way the oxygen won't ruin your hummus or let freezer burn in. Good luck!

I agree with the girl above me - you can freeze it, if you do it in a freezer storage container. I wouldn't can it, wouldn't even try it.
