Who here has a APBT?
Who here has an APBT? And what is your favorite thing about him or her? I have a 1.5 year old and I love his attitude towards people, he never meets a stranger everyone is a friend in his mind.

I have a 1 year old, Zephyr (1/2 APBT/Pointer, 1/2 AmStaff) and a 2 .5 year old, Chansey (APBT/Pointer). They're mother and son, but quite different!
Chansey is a complete skitzo.. she loves everyone, and shows it by jumping up to lick people in the face. e've tried endlessly to train her out of it.. but it's really tough!! She is dog-aggressive sometimes.. after we got her spayed, she suddenly (despite much socialization) started hating other females.. which spread to males as well. I worked wit her (Caesars Way!!) and she is now mostly aggression free.. and when she has an oopsie, I know how to handle it. (she doesn't try to kill other dogs.. just dominate them.. no blood spilled yet!)
Zephyr, her son, is pretty much opposite of her. He was neutered at 14 weeks, (as soon as the suckers dropped..lol) and has never been much of a jumper. he likes other people.. but is more reserved and quiet around them. No jumping up for him! Ever since he was a puppy, he has always been drawn to kids, and he loves to have them snuggle and pat him. Chansey's absence of any guarding abilities didn't pass on to Zeph. I take him with me when I'm on the 7pm-7am shift at work, and he will bark/growl at anyone after nightfall. If I tell him they're fine, he will return to his friendly state with them. It seems to be a learned behavior with him.. but I didn't teach it. I think he picks up when I'm nervous... Also, when I'm patrolling for a dog, I will tell him "whas dat?" and he will look for the dog as well. He's usually the 1st to see it, too. When we dont' have any calls we go back to the substation and sleep till the next one. he also guards while we're there, which makes me feel safer as I'm the only one there at night.
I love my pities, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. Once a pittie owner, always a pittie owner!!
ADD: Also, bringing Zephyr with me has changed a lot of mids about pit bulls. Seeing an ACO with one who is well behaved and sweet can make a big diff. Often, people are like "is that a pit?" and I'm like, "sure. wanna meet him?" they usually are like.. uh.. no.. isn't he mean? and I just let him out of the truck, and he sits calmly next to me while they greet him. he's excelent without a leash, so they're even more impressed that he doesn't just run off. I answer their questions, and I let them know that out of the thousands of pit bulls I meet yearly, only a handful were aggressive, and only a couple of them were out to kill me... but almost none were beyond help. I let them know that it is never the dogs' premeditated idea to become aggressive. It is ALWAYS the fault of the humans who bred and/or raised them. I always point out that as these dogs draw the wrong crowd a lot, the wrong crowd is also the type of person who cannot properly care for these high energy, high drive dogs! Not too many people would have their dogs out every night, pulling them about on a scooter (like me :) ) But my 2 need it to be happy and healthy, otherwise they'd probably dirve me up the wall!! Luckily, I love to be active and outdorrsy, and with a baby on the way, I've had to resort to new ways to tire them out! I can't wait for my kid to come into the world.. and the 1st shirt they'll wear will say "My big brother is a PIT BULL" :)

I do!!!! Kona is 10 months old and she is the sweetest pittie ever! She would rather chase leaves and smell the flowers than be a growling barking canine! She thinks she's a cat and loves to bird watch! She loves licking babies faces especially if they're covered with PBJ. She goes to the park all the time and has a lot of fans around the neighborhood! I'm a pre-school teacher and my students have met her....They love her too!!!! They've given her the name Kona-Banona and always ask when can Kona visit the class again!!! Pitties have the worst rap because of irresponsible owners! It's unfair for the wonderful dogs that they all can be!

Sy is about 1.5 years old. He is just a baby. Loves his people and his 5 other dog kin. I love the goofy faces he makes. Yesterday he spent the day on the back deck, jumping to catch the huge wood bees that fly by. He's very good at it.

I'm a VERY PROUD owner of pit bulls!! Actually I am a licensed breeder of 10 years. I specialize in big blues and I love them to death. They make the best companions and are great snuggling partners. They LOVE to walk and see who they can meet next. They never meet a stranger and the funniest thing is they snore soooo loud and pass gas like no other. In my bed I sleep with a 75 pd and 85 pd and love it!! A loving breeder!!

I have two male American pitbull terriers one of them is 4 years old and one is 5 years old.
I love how happy they are even though when they go for a walk people move to the other side of the street and stare, They still try to be their friend even if the people are scared of them.

i've got faith you have the UKC and the ADBA mixed up. Its the UKC who prefers the stockier, extra am staffy seem to their apbts. The ADBA has the extra gamier bloodlines. the two, although, have American Bullies registered as APBT. coach high quality ADBA canines are going to be the smaller, extra athletic and agile canines. Alot of the UKC coach APBTs could bypass for American Staffordshire Terriers and alot do have Am workforce blood. in case you get an APBT of the extra classic, smaller, and extra ripped look you would be gazing extra dogs aggressive characteristics for the main section. extra of those canines are game bred contained in the ADBA or a minimum of have extra game bred blood of their genetics then the UKC. i myself dont know any breeders out west, yet one element I reccomend you do is commence attending dogs exhibits backed via the two the UKC, and the ADBA. as quickly as you initiate attending those exhibits you are able to start to fulfill people and get in good with them. you will get to work out canines of all diverse bloodlines and the individuals on the exhibits would be extra probable to refer you to a worth breeder that throughout the time of high-quality condition your style in canines than all individuals on the internet.
