Mr. Carter will be in clear violation of the Logan Act if he attempts to initiate negotiations or any other act of diplomacy with representatives of Hamas.
If that does occur, he should be summarily arrested and tried in a Federal court.

Well first off Bush gets exactly what he wants a democratic elected government in an Arab nation and then because he doesn't agree with them he refuses to talk to them sounds a bit like a 4 year old if you ask me. I would have thought that most people by now would have realized that just bombing people does not change their minds you need to talk to them about their problems. Lastly Carters administration was due to what the Nixon years gave him that's where inflation and high gas prices started as for the hostages in Iran they were released on Regan's inauguration day meaning carter negotiated their release Regan was president for about a minute when they got released and we didn't have to go to war to get them released either.

I think that if Jimmy Carter really understood Foreign policy then he would not have messed up in the middle east during his presidency.
By the way Nader did you block me for pointing out that you are anti-Semitic or because you can't handle the truth?

I don't see how a government can be founded upon a military tactic- terrorism is a tactic in guerrila warfare-learn to read!
Terrorism is not a political ideaology.
Source(s): I can read guerrila warfare manuals- big deal! - paulj53@att.netLv 51 decade ago
He is a complete idiot.
History has proven he was one of the worst President's in the 20th century. (Yes I was alive during his presidency and remember.)
I think he needs to keep his butt in George and grow peanuts and stay off the world stage forever.
He does not represent me or my country and needs to be publicly told to keep his big pie hole shut.

He actually thinks that terrorists give a sh!t what he thinks. He is delusional. Why doesn't he stick to building homes for the homeless. He's great at that!

Carter is making Hillary look good, she even condemned him for making the meeting. I think he is just a misguided, Israel hating, old Liberal.

I don't see what the problem is. Carter was the one that effectively negotiated the release of the hostages from Iran. It was their captors that made sure that Carter would never have the satisfaction and waited until Regan was in office to send them home. I think if Carter was able to make sure the hostages came home safely through his diplomacy, then he is obviously capable of talking to Hamas. And as long as Hamas wants him there and is willing to hear him, I don't see that we have wasted anything.

Whenever he opens his mouth, he makes Bush look smarter and makes me realize how lucky the United States is that he lost to Reagan in a landslide because he was the worst President in history and Reagan showed Carter what a true leader is.
Reagan was one of the best Presidents in US history and one of the greatest leaders in world history.
