How come Luke & Owen Wilson have different hair colours if they're brothers?

Update:

Owen's hair doesn't look dyed.

Does one of their parents have blonde hair and one has brown hair?

Like everyone said, it is a matter of Genetics. One got the dominate gene and the other got the recessive.

    Say the following happened.

Mother has Brown eyes shown as Bb.

Father has blue eyes shown as bb.

    First child : Bb

    Second: bb

    Third: Bb

    Fourth: bb

    *** Update: ***

No, one parent does not have to have blond hair and the other brown. An example is me and my husband. We both have dark brown hair (though mine was lighter as a child) and all 3 of our kids have blond hair. My oldest having the darkest blond hair now, but still a blond.

It looks like both me and my husband just both carry the recessive gene in both of us and it is showing in our kids.

Brothers and sisters can have different hair colors, cuz one of my brothers has blonde brown hair, my other brother has brown hair, my sister has blonde hair and I have dark dark hair. so yeah.. and my moms hair is black and my dads hair is black but my dads used to be red than blonde when he was little.

I know three sisters who all have different hair colors. (A blonde, a redhead and a brunette not necessarily in that order.) It all has to do with the genetics lottery and dominant versus recessive traits.

Ya know, or they're not really related and are just trying to fool us! </sarcasm>

They might just dye their hair other colours.

Or else one took more after one parent and the other took after the other.

My hair is light brown and my sister's is dark brown. She's short and I'm tall. This kind of thing happens all the time.

I find blonde tresses with pale skin to be appealing, and dark hair with tanned epidermis to also be attractive

It all depends on the cost of a box of color. If you look closely enough he has a dark roots.
