Do I have a choice of starter jewelry if I get a lip piercing?
I am thinking about getting my lip pierced this summer. I am a girl, and a "girly girl" at that, but have always liked lip rings. The people I know who have their lips pierced, started out with a large ring with a ball in their lip. This was just what the piercer put in, but I was curious if you have a choice of your starter jewelry. I want a small, thin, seamless ring that sits flush against my lip. Is it possible for them to put this in right away? or does the ring need to be large to start?
Thank you for your help!!

At first they need to be large to accommodate any swelling. The good news is that a lip piercing is one of the fastest healing and you would be able to switch the jewelry after about 6 weeks.

you definetly have a choice, i think what usually happens is that they put in some jewlery that is bulky to kind of make sure it wont close. It really all deends on your skin and how it holds up with diffrent jewlery, ive found that jewlery that is not gold or white gold will make it easier for things to get infected, but again thats just me. Ask at the shop your getting it done, tell them what u want, they will definetly help u out pick a good one for ya.
