Intelligent Design supporters: removing religion from intelligent design...?

Since "Expelled" came out, I've encountered several people claiming that if we remove the religious aspect from intelligent design, people think it's a possibility- even us atheists! So, let's do that.

Let's teach that aliens, not god, intelligently designed the earth and humans and animals, etc. It's not impossible, right? It's also a possibility that we developed as so complex an intelligently designed super-computer that we're not under the control of these aliens in any way, other than their basic program. Many of these aliens may still be here, disguised, and the only people that know about it are a top-secret branch of highly-trained government agents who specialize in alien diplomacy, monitoring alien activity on Earth, fending of alien attacks, and zapping the memories of civilians who end up witnessing any alien shenanigans.

What do you say? Should we teach this in schools? I truly believe it's not completely impossible, and to NOT teach it would be persecution, right?

Update:

Alice W.-- Show me empirical evidence that god did it-- or maybe-- just maybe-- ID has no place in schools because there's absolutely no empirical evidence either way...

Update 2:

JCWarrior: the aliens exist outside of the place of time. They always were.

Update 3:

Jess D: Since there's tons of evidence supporting evolution, teach it seems like a good idea-- I'm glad you agree.

Update 4:

PsychedlicEnlightenment: What is wrong with you? It's all important to study-- the study of evolution is the basis of biology, the basis of medical science. We could all just say, "screw it" and go hang out in the woods, but then we'd all quickly die.

You should really go back to school, and lay off the shrooms.

Nature and god are the same thing, so I do not see what all the fight about? Everyone thinks they are right and they know. Time, space, and all this seperation are illusion. Everything is created out of one energy, I say who cares what the hell they teach in schools at this point. I mean come off it...its mostly all BS anyway. I didnt learn anything worth my time in school. I learned more from walking out deep in nature and eating scared mushrooms. That moment changed my life, I have never seen things in quite the same way since. Time, space, and the concept of the self melted away. I could see what was real and what was fake. Whats fake is much of what they teach you in school....things likes life is about getting a job and trying to make money. If people truley have glimsed truth then you shhould be sicken by the world. I mean look around, every town is strating to look the same....walmart, mcdonalds, shitty housing delvopments. We have become spiritually flat and a bunch of sheep. Why are we tearing the forests down to build pespi cola plants? Lets oepn are eyes and see that we have become a cancer to earth.. Cancer is defined as cells that show traits of uncontrolled groth and intrusion. Cancer is to our body, as what we have become to the earth. If that is true that it could it be okay to ask that maybe we are only a small part to something much bigger? i mean do you think cells have any idea what they do is part of soemthing bigger. What greedy people and cancer cells, do not see, is that if you kill you palce for living, then you are die as well. Maybe that is how thing have to be....all thing must pass. Every thing must die, be it cells, animals, stars, or univeres. Lets quit the blame game then okay? I mean we are all at fault, no one group is to blame. It dosnt matter what you bealive, in only matters how you act

Why, of course - it's just as credible as all other religions, Tom Cruise and John Travolta believe it, and ALL children should be inundated with fiction so we can get back to the Dark Ages where we belong. Down with technology! Down with science! Up with gods and aliens, spaghetti monsters, unicorns, and Ceiling Cats!

(Note that "Ceiling Cat" uses capital 'C's. This should tell you something about the right religion, eh?

lets teach evolution on the basis of what 2008 science can tell us. Lets teach it as fact and ridicule all other opinions. After all the findings of science never change over time, nothing new is ever found. What we knew in 1008 is the same as 2008 and will be the same in 3008 right? So lets all call ourselves an atheist based on the science of 2008. Lets all be sure that science has already proven everything, and we know everything there is to know already. All other opinions will be weighed against science, and if they are not compatible with our scientific minds then they MUST be wrong. So no, I would'nt ever teach anybody what millions of people believe in their hearts to be true, I would only teach what 2008 human science has already told us and teach it as fact.

Most Christians I know don't want biblical creationism taught in science classes (they would butcher it). What we want is for molecules-to-man evolution to be taught with all its warts (they are not even allowed to present evidence that would put evolution in a poor light). And we want intelligent design to at least to be presented. Unlike leprechauns and a flat earth, etc., a significant percentage of the (tax paying) population believes in ID.

So many people these days are confusing biblical creationism with intelligent design. "Intelligent Design is the study of patterns in nature that are best explained as the result of intelligence" (Dr. William Dembski). That's it; it says nothing of who the creator is and how he/she/it/they did it. Intelligent Design encompasses every "creation" story, even aliens seeding life on this planet.

Ben Stein truly is an idiot, he claims ID is being persecuted. Obviously he's never heard of the Dover trials where they had their chance to prove it was science but they failed.

Not only was ID found not to be science it was also found to have religious motives.

Intelligent Design - religion = a superior designer whom we do not worship.

Therefore, both Intelligent Design and Evolution are compatible with Atheism.

    (just another lie)

"Let's teach that aliens, not god, intelligently designed the earth and humans and animals, etc".

That's apparently what Richard Dawkins believes could be possible, but my question to that is: "Who created the aliens?" I mean, they had to of had a beginning. You can apply this question to any other theory of the beginning of the universe that doesn't include a Creator. The only logical answer to the creation of the universe is an eternal, supreme Diety that created it all. Something could not have come from nothing.
