Will my warrant officer packet still get picked up if I'm now DA selected for recruiting?

My husband is a Staff sgt. in the Army of 7 years, and has been trying to put his warrant officer packet in for over 2. He now has his packet ready to submit to the May board. The problem is that he was DA selected for recruiting... Does his packet stand a chance of getting picked up (with DA selection for recruiting on his erb)? And if it is picked up, will the W orders delete the recruiting? Is there a way for his Battery Commander to cancel recruiting orders? Is there anything that branch can do? How can we be sure that his career will progress in the direction of Warrant officer and not recruiter?

Turn in the Warrant application anyway. Chances are that USAREC is going to override everything.

He can still get selected for Warrant, even if he is a detailed recruiter, but he still may have to go to the school and get out there as a recruiter.

I had 2 folks in my last assignment that got taken out of recruiting for Warrant - so it can happen.

The BC can try and defer his USAREC orders, but they won't be able to cancel them. Branch isn't going to be any help, as they have already cleared him to get released to USAREC for 3 years.

Sorry to say, but he may have to go ahead and go recruiting, and hopefully get picked up for it while he is out there.

Bottom line is submit that packet asap.

I was an E7 when i put my packet in and a month later i received a letter from DA stating that i had been selected but that i had to go through a Warrant Officer Candidate Coarse and my tract school before i could be pinned, which took twelve months. I say put your packet in and then: Be All You Can Be!!! Best of luck!!!

P.S.My best years in the military was during the time i was a Commissioned Warrant Officer.
