Help With a a strange looking Wall Outlet / Socket?
I have just moved into a new apartment. The only thing i can see that even closely resembles some sort of connection to a tv is this :

Anyone know what this is?!
Anyone have any idea of what cable i can use to connect to this?
I live in Australia, and the apartment is at least 20 years old.
Thanks!

That's an old 300 ohm flat lead socket....
You will need to buy some 300 ohm cable, the 300 ohm connector and then on the TV end of that cable you will need a 300 ohm to 75 ohm Coaxial adaptor...
I doubt you have a Radio Shack over there, but if you have a TANDY's, then you have a Re-Named Radio Shack...it's the same place.
Or you can go to a Lowe's or some other Big Lumberyard and MAYBE find those parts....
And unfortunately, I'll bet that antenna jack doesn't function anymore....

Take the photo to an electronics store and ask them if they have a two prong end that could be used in that wall jack in conjunction with a coaxial cable end to fit your TV. See what they have to say. Your best bet, other then buying an indoor set of rabbit ears
