Do Yahoo Answers really review our appeals?

Yesterday i was deducted 24 points and given 2 violation notices for just 1 deleted answer by MISTAKE.

Here is my Deleted Answer: Hopefully They won't equalize. But i think they

will. Blackburn are good today. If United lose then Chelsea have a

great chance to win at the bridge and then win the title.!

Violation Reason:Insulting Other Participants

I was talking about football teams but my answer was removed for insulting other participants. I appealed it with PROOF and they wrote to me back saying.....

"We have reviewed your appeal request. Upon review we found that your

content was indeed in violation of the Yahoo! Answers Community

Guidelines, Yahoo! Community Guidelines or the Yahoo! Terms of Service."

How is my answer violating the community guidelines ? Do they really review appeals ? Is there any chance for a Yahoo Answers member to win an appeal?

Thank You.

Haven't you already asked a question about your violation already?

Well,I'll tell you to live with it,and get over it.I mean,Yahoo! probably wouldn't even read our letters. As soon as you appeal, they'll use a couple of days to make it seem like they are actually reviewing it,and send you a message saying the same thing again.Oh no,I've fallen into their trap!Lol.

I'm not so sure that they do. To be a bit mischievious, I'm thinking they might have someone that speaks a different language consider your appeal. I've had two violations. The first was for not asking a question, which I clearly was. The second was for not answering a question, this one was a bit less clear but I had a definite answer in my rants. If I had been given a violation for ranting I could have understood it and would not have appealed it. Anyway I appealed both and received the same non-descript message you got. I'm resigned to the fact that it is useless to appeal. I still will but have given up all hope or concern.

Well you used the phrase "why can't religious people" that can be taken two ways. 1. you are asking why their doctrine doesn't allow killing animals. or 2. you are complaining that they are not physically able not to kill. The first one is okay, the second one can come off very disrespectful. Would you want someone to ask why you aren't able to kill (regardless of whether you do or not)? I didn't think so. People are really sensitive about their religion. Honestly that question is poorly written grammatically as well, so it isn't very clear what you are asking without reading it multiple times. I would advise that you rephrase the question, maybe something like this: "Why do you think that in many religions it is okay to kill and eat animals. Religiously speaking do you think it is cruel to kill and eat animals? Would your opinion change if killing and eating animals was done during a religious holiday."

I had this happen to me and there was no way a violation and they gave me the same response.

BUT what i really dont understand is why they would deduct points and say you and others violated the guidlines while others who post inappropriate picture get away without any points deducted

They have the time to say we violated a rule while the ones who REALLY did get away with it!!!!!!

"How is my answer violating the community guidelines ?"

You insulted another member. Your answer included:

    Source(s):

@ Owen hargreaves is a bla bla - Thanks for the thumbs down & making yourself look like an idiot

"Do they really review appeals ?"

    Evidently so.

"Is there any chance for a Yahoo Answers member to win an appeal?"

Yes, but not in this case.

Now, give my answer the "fair" review Y!AT gave your appeal, and award it BA.

You actually have asked this already and someone replied to it. The question was against the community guidelines. Since it was against the community guidelines, any answers would be against community guidelines. Don't answer questions such as these.

Yahoo! Answers staff are equivalent to the storm troopers from Star Wars, its the evil Galactic Empire who seeks to rule over answers.

i can't imagine that to be the case. lol it would take an awful lot'ta manpower to staff people at computer stations to what, peruse 50,000 appeals? and what do they gain from paying so many employees' wages? lol.... i would highly doubt it but you never know.. they prob'ly do a spot check and if a human is involved at all, scan maybe once in a blue moon or run it through a bot or something. who knows? 8-\

I've gotten like 4 appeals, but compared to my violations that's like nothing.
