A poem written by a girl I know for me. But, I dont understand it. Help?

To me it sounds like she likes you and you don't notice it.

She wants you to ask her out:)

Wow. I'm not reading the same way as the previous answerer at all.

Let's step through it:

YOU look at HER with caressing eyes -- which seems to mean that you like her, you embrace her with your eyes

Yet pressing lies peer back. -- while you caress her with your eyes, she stares back at you with lies.

You try so hard to dodge the darts; you wait for her to come to you -- so you are trying to dodge the darts of what, her lies? the lies that come from her stare?

Walk away or she'll run before you get the chance -- seems to say that you shouldn't keep wanting her; she is saying that if you don't walk away, she'll run away. What we don't know is if she would run because she doesn't like you or because she is afraid.

You glance...content - but she's content; don't tempt her

She just wants you to see her; hear her

But -- she says then that you don't see or hear her -- instead, you hear the "muffled voices of her feelings" and you do not understand them.

She says for you to hand them back with no regrets -- that is, walk away and don't wish for something more with her.

So -- either she is warning you that she doesn't like you back, or she is warning you that she is confused and scared and might hurt you.

Of course, all of this is assuming that the "SHE/HER" in the poem is the girl who wrote it. I guess it is possible that the poet is not speaking about herself, but about some other girl that you caress with your eyes. You'll have to say which it is.

Of course, even if my reading of the poem is accurate, the fact that she wrote it and gave it to you says to me that she cares on some level for you -- but in case it is just friendship right now, I'd go slowly if I were you.

yea it sounds like she wants ur attention, and she thinks that mayb u r denying your feelings for her. she wants u to step up. but maybe shes a psycho little girl... don't get in trouble with the law. She sounds verry tempting. i know a lot of younger girls who have had crushes on older men. its a dangerous situation, b cautious! hope this helps. keep us updated plz
