Are my fighting styles a good combination?

I do kickboxing, muay thai, bjj, and wrestling. Is this a good combination?

Yup. It covers all ranges of combat.

Aaron J is oh-so-wrong, though. You should NOT drop Wrestling or BJJ. They do NOT teach you the same things.

If anything, one could argue that you should drop kickboxing, but I do not believe that to be the case. Because, if there's one place that Muay Thai is lacking, it's in the hands department. American kickboxing tends to play out like boxing with kicks. Consequently, you'll sharpen your hand skills by practicing that. Hence, they both do something different for you.

As for BJJ and Wrestling, in case you haven't noticed this during your training... BJJ encompasses groundwork -- positions, pins, sweeps, submissions, and transitioning between all of the above. Sometimes takedowns are practiced, but not always. Wrestling, on the other hand, is all about takedowns and defending them.

So to sum it up, your kickboxing and MT keeps you covered while standing. Your BJJ covers you on the ground. And your Wrestling ability will decide where the fight takes place. As the better wrestler in a fight, YOU decide whether the engagement takes place on your feet or on the mat.

    Good combination, keep it up.

Yes its a great combination you have muay thai and kickboxing for you stand up and striking, and the bjj and wrestling help you out alot for being and gaurd and when your on the ground.

It depends a lot on what you want to do, but that is good overall because you're covering all the combat ranges. You've got two standup arts, wrestling for takedowns, and BJJ for newaza. I don't see any problem with that. I'm doing something similar: TKD, Kickboxing, Kempo, BJJ, Wrestling, Judo, and Small Circle Jujutsu. But the latter four are just "Grappling" as a whole concept in my MMA class.

    Good luck.

I would really say that you can drop two of them because its a little redundant.

Muay Thai will have elements of Kickboxing in it and BJJ will have the same for wrestling.

I would say if you want more variety add a karate or kung fu style in there as well.

For MMA? Yes. Bjj will give you subs and positioning, wrestling for the takedowns and control, MT for striking.
