Problem Installing DVD/CD-ROM drivers?

I recently reformatted my DELL hard drive to run Vista, somehow the drivers for both original CD/DVD-roms have been erased and I do not have a floppy disc drive.

My question is, how do I install the drivers?

I have an

HL-DT-ST DVD+- RW GWA4164B ATA

and a

SONY DVD-ROM DDU1615 ATA

Also, if the device driver disc I have wont run where can I find these specific device drivers?

Update:

I've tried installing the driver's from the DELL website but I receive and error for each.

The first error gives me:

No Matched Drive Detected. This utility is only for SONY DVD_ROM DDU1615 Drive

(but that's the one I have! And one of the two that shows up in my device manager list!)

The other error states:

Can Not Initialize! 2815

(No idea what that means)

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Were the drives installed before you reformatted - or did you add a drive. If you added a drive, then make sure it is setup in the bios correctly (check your dell documentation on how).

Check Device Manager - are the drives listed - are the "Working Properly"?

Otherwise as others have stated - you can download the drivers from dell. I believe the they have a system checker you can run to tell you what you have and download the appropriate drivers from there.

Make sure you get the correct drivers for the correct Drive for the correct OS - some brain fart on those aspects.

Can not initialize is a Windows error - usually means a bad download or something went wrong - general error usually.

    BACKUP the registry first.

    Try:

    1. Click Start, then Run, then enter REGEDIT to open the Registry Editor

    2. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class entry

    3. Under the Class entry, double click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    4. In the right-hand pane, click ONCE to select the UpperFilters entry

    5. Make sure the UpperFilters entry is highlighted, press Delete, then Yes.

    6. In the right-hand pane, click ONCE to select the LowerFilters entry

    7. Make sure the LowerFilters entry is highlighted, press Delete, then Yes.

    8. Close the Registry Editor by clicking File, Exit.

Make sure bios is set to auto detect. You could also try downloading aida32 which gives you lots of info about your pc, it also provides links for any needed drivers et.

Try going to device manager, and uninstalling then re-installing the drives. Dont use vista so not sure how you go abou this, sorry.

    Hope this helps

You can download them from Dell's website. Probably will find them in the support/downloads section. Or you can go into Device Manager delete/uninstal the drivers that are already there and reboot. Plug and Play will find them and reinstall the drivers.
