Are you a Hamster or a Mouse expert?
As a pet rat expert I feel most confident in answering questions about Pet Rats, but I continue to get private e-mails asking me about Hamsters, Mice, and Guinea Pigs. I've never had Guinea Pigs as pets and so I will refer owners of Guinea Pigs to "Justified'. I use to own Hamsters, a long time ago, and Mice up to a year ago, but I have never researched their care indepth as I have with pet rats and I am not as confident in answering Hamster or Mouse questions. So, I need other experts here to refer these owners to when I get these private e-mails that I can't answer.
You must be able to spell Hamster without a P
Your questions and answers must be open to the public in order to truly help others.
You must be a present owner of Hamsters and Mice, preferably a reputable breeder of these animals.
You must be crazy in love enough to have done indepth research for your chosen pet.
Feeder breeders need not apply, I'm talking pets.
You must allow contact between us.
Thank you
Ok, it's going to be harder to choose a best answer then I thought. Just by responding to my question all of you are telling me that you are truly willing to help others with their rodent questions, outside of this YA game. I respect you all :*)

I was into mice before I discovered rats, I bred them for about a year and owned several different varieties; I would feel comfortable answering questions on mice. Truthfully, they are quite a lot like rats except for some behavioural differences, color variants, genetics, and their odor. I am a little rusty on my mouse genetics but know the basics of it anyway.

I don't currently own guinea pigs or hamsters, nor do I breed them. However, I owned several hamsters and guinea pigs throughout the years. Beforehand of adopting hamsters and guineas in the past, I did extensive research, as do I with any animal I plan on owning. Like I said, I don't know much about genetics and all the breeding material. I do, however, think I know enough about the general care of these animals to be a benefit to others who may have questions.
I'm no expert, but you can also refer to me for questions asked about ferrets and sugar gliders (if any, I know some people think they are rodents. Just thought I'd throw that out there, though!)
Good luck with your search.

Most of my experience is with rats and mice. I've been working with both for about 6 years. I have bred both at one point, but do not currently.
I am very knowledgable about most small animals including hamsters (I also hate when people spell it with a P), gerbils, mice, and rats. I have less experience with guinea pigs and chinchillas, although I believe I know more than the average person about these two species.
I give small animal pet advice on a daily basis (not necessarily on YA) and I doubt you could ask me a question that I haven't answered before.
Please feel free to ask me animal related questions. My e-mail address is kitykity28@yahoo.com
Love you spazrats. Thanks for all the great rat info you put out there!

I mainly know rats, I've loved hamsters and mice in the past but not even close to being an expert.
I do run a rat forum and there is a section on pocket pets with a few member there that I would consider experts on them.
The forum is at jorats . com.

Hello, Hamsters Im not so sure about, but I do have 1. Her name is Cecilia, and she's evil. But thats beside the point. I breed rats and mice. I do have separate colonies for feeders, but I also breed for the pet trade. My feeders are solid white, and my pets range in colors and fur types. You can send over emails to my account if you like. Understand if you don't becuase i do breed for feeders. But its worth a shot, and I like educating people on the care of animals. Here is my email: K8e1437@aol.com
