Box Turtles?
Hello everyone!
I have a box turtle and have not seen her in months. I am just wondering if or when she will come out of her hiding spot... I know she is probably hibernating, but am afraid that she is lost. I live in an apt and maybe you guys can give me pointers on where they like to hibernate? Thanks in advance!

So,it was just loose in the apartment to fend for itself with no access to food or water? If it was, then it is probably dead somewhere,as when they are indoors and warm, they do not hibernate. They may slow down a bit,but they still need water and food.Start looking underneath things. Dead turtles smell really bad,but if it didn't have anything to drink,it may have died from dehydration and is dried up somewhere.Just look,is all I can say,and don't get another turtle if you don't know how to care for it properly.

Well, to tell you the truth, box turtles are an endangered species and illegal to own. Check the temps, to get some herps out of brumation to need to give them a week or so of real high temps. If you really can't find it dig around in the enclosure and see if it is still in there, if not start looking around the house.
