If Obama is for real change, should he run as an independent instead with the Democratic party?

Obama accuses old style politics in Washington DC but these politicians includes both Republicans and Democrats alike. In fact, these politicians whom he criticizes are the ones who would decide whether he can run as president for his party. He keeps on shouting about change yet he is involved within the same system that he criticizes. It makes me wonder if he is really for genuine change. If he is really for CHANGE, why not go against the entire system and be an INDEPENDENT? He should raise his own money and establish a new party to rival both Democrats and Republicans.

Update:

It is not another lame excuse to destroy him but he seems to be promising heaven and earth that I think it is impossible for him to achieve unless he becomes a dictator.

I am not naive in politics. Our family (mother side) is into politics and I have seen the ugly side of it. Politicians are politicians, they will promise you every single star in the galaxy just to win.

If Obama truely is for change then he shouldn't be running as a democrat. Any candidate who really wants to change something would run as an independent. Democrats and republicans are not worth trusting; especially whenit comes to change. They have the power in this country, and they want to keep it.

Not if he wants to be president.

You can't "run" the country from the white house. You have to have a cabinet and a congress that at least acknowledges your existence.

    He is all a lie

    No ONE can change Washington

because we have separation of powers

and checks and balance to stop people like Obama from getting to much power ( which he needs to change Washington)

As Independents do not win presodential elections, I am sure that Hillary will thank you for the suggestion.

Why? An awful lot of Independents dont like him or his Socialist agenda either! So why bother!

  • 1 decade ago

Even if he were elected president, he wouldn't have a party in Congress to pass the legislation he wants.

Parties provide a network and money. Independents don't have that.

His real "change" would to raise taxes and waste taxpayer's dollars. Sorry we've already had enough of that.
