Xbox 360 problems?
I am thinking of buying a Xbox 360, but I am being put off by all the problems I keep reading about, crashing, 3 red rings, etc, are there still a lot of problems ? Is it worth getting the 360 and if so which version? or save up a bit longer and go for the PS3? Last thing I want is a machine I have to keep sending back.

The problems were related to the first white model of the xbox 360, as with all continous improvement the new xbox has resolved these issues.
I own the new black, 360 elite which has been perfect and no problems. The ring of death was due to overheating which has been resolved with more effective fans.
The thing that Xbox wins on hands down is Xbox Live. It is the best part of owning an xbox and is really easy to set up. PS3 comes no where near Xbox due to this.

I bought my xbox last year around September, and in march i got the three red rings, so its not just the old ones. Microsoft did come and collect it, repair it and send it back all for free though which i was impressed with. now as good as new. They have also extended warranty to 3 years. If you are going to get one make sure its one with at least the 20gb hdd so you can go online.

i have the xbox and it owns my friend has the ps3 and he said if you want good graphics that you have to get a flat screen 5 thousand dollar tv so i would say get the xbox 360 elite the elite because it also comes with accessories like head phone and i think 1 month live. so get the xbox 360 elite

You can get a wireless adapter for the xbox, but that's expensive (around 100$). Another option, is connecting a laptop to the xbox and using it as a wireless adapter with ICS (internet connection sharing) - search youtube for it if you are interested in that. Another option can be using a switch, which is like a "station" for the cable, where you can connect another cable from it to your computer, but buying a longer ethernet cable is more simple - you can get one in any normal computer / gamers store.

well ps3 has graphics are better, while you dont have to pay for "PS3" live and the PS3 has less problems than the xbox 360
regarding games, i dont think you can debate the two because each system has differetn games, where like the xbox has more shooter games like halo 3, while the PS3 might have different style games that it focuses on more, although im not sure which ones

The xbox has a warranty on it, if it breaks at all you can send it to microsoft and they will repair free of charge or send you a new one for free.

no,that's sorted now, it was mainly the first ones that kept doing that (i went through 4). no problems now, and the ring of death, i know how to fix that, it involves wrapping the 360 in towels and overheating it to burn off the dust, risky, but it works xxx see you on live xxx

I have one and i would say that if you buy one you have to buy one of the coolers for it so it does not over heat.
