Does anyone know why I have to constantly reset my network adapter?

I have windows vista on my Toshiba laptop, I can get online without a problem, but when I go on certain web sites it won't load the page, I then have to reset the network adapter and then it loads fine. I never loose connection I only can't visit certain sites. I have tried all the steps from microsoft, they have been emailing me back and forth giving me stuff to try and nothing has helped. I have also used firefox with the same issues. I am debating switching from vista to xp because I never have a problem on my home computer that has xp on it. Do you think that would solve my problem? Thank you for any help.

Update:

Thanks, I have cable internet and I've spoke to them also and no help there either. Its looking like I am going to switch to xp. I bought the laptop with vista on it, I didn't want it but could find one with xp on it.

Update 2:

I did all that and I was told by microsoft I can switch to xp. I have all the steps to do it.

It may be just a slow or congested server on their end. You might just refreshing the browser (normally F5 key or right click - Refresh). You can tell if that server congestion is the problem if you can visit other sites alright after you visit the problem site.

there is no way you can switch to xp. once you upgrade you cannot downgrade especially if the laptop cam with vista. Instead of restarting your adapter try refreshing the page somtimes the server thats hosting the site is runiing SLOW, If you continue to have this problem try finding out what kind of adapter your computers using and goto the toshiba website and see if there and new updates for your adapter.

there have been alot of compatibility issues using Vista with the vast amount of hardware on the market...for that reason, I have held back upgrading my systems. That said, I'm assuming you're using an ISP, so you may want to consider having the ISP check the broadband router.
