Will mortgage rates (FHA 30yr-fixed) continue to rise now that it's been so low?
All my loan paperwork has been approved by the underwriter, but my loan officer is telling me to sit tight because the rate for a 30-yr fixed FHA has increased in the past week. He believes it will come back down a few 1/10ths of a percentage and will lock it in at the lower rate. Should I trust it, or are global trends going to continue pushing the rate higher?

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoWhen is a good age to take a toddler to a pro-baseball game?
My daughter will be a year old in April and I am looking at getting tickets to a game in June or July (when the weather in Chicago is tolerable). Has any parents had good experiences with taking their toddler to a ballgame? Thanks so much :-)
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agocan an electric starter on a snow thrower burn out a GFI outlet after a few tries?
I used the electric starter on my snowthrower while plugged into an outdoor GFI outlet in my garage about 10 times before it stopped working. Now, nothing plugged into the outlet gets a charge, even after resetting the corresponding circuit breaker. My garage was probably close to 32 degrees at the time I was using the snowthrower, so could the starter wire shorten out the outlet when near/at freezing temperatures?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoShould I refinance on my home if it is currently valued at less than the original selling price?
My home has gone from appreciating to >$50,000 of its original value (around 2005-2006) to currently < $5,000 of its original value. Very frustrating, as you can imagine. Does it make sense to re-finance on the current value of the home?
6 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoHow can I get the homeowner next door to me to properly drain his sump pump?
I contacted the city regarding proper drainage of the sump pump drain hose in our subdivision, and they sent out someone who only inspected my home and said my drainage was fine. My neighbor is renting his home and is never onsite, so I tried asking the tenants to politely move their drain hose from inbetween our 2 homes and point it toward the street like the rest of the subdivision does. Their drain hose is still spewing water between the 2 homes, causing a minor swamp in part of my backyard. Is there anything I could do to report this as a violation? My home is in Illinois.

8 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoCan I request a lower APR on closed credit card?
I am being charged 30.9% by HSBC for an account I've had in good standing for over 15 years. I had a couple late payments and have been charged this exorbitant amount ever since. This was more than 2 years ago. My Credit score is still good despite this. My cardmember agreement does not specify an exact APR for late payments. The Account Manager said 30.9% is actually down from their 32.9% rate from a few months ago...I said "wow, that is quite a relief and so kind of your company ;-)
So, unless I pay off the entire balance, am I stuck with this ridiculous rate?
4 AnswersCredit1 decade agoHave people begun receiving their IRS 'stimulus' payment yet?
The timetable on the IRS' homepage states taxpayers should begin receiving them as early as April 28th, just wondering if anyone's received theirs already, and if it's been accurate to the timetable provided by the IRS. Thanks!

7 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoIs it me, or is the History section being used about 90% for homework and cram study sessions?
Sorry, but I think this should be primarily used as an open forum to discuss historical events, whether it is of high impact or just trivial/recreational. That said, please do your own research and have a little respect for the world's history in hopes that one day you'll develop an appreciation of it.
...Ok, I'm off my soapbox...enjoy!

Seems to be a trend each year that the Royals start off hot, then take an eternal dive after mid-April...

6 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoWho's in favor of watching another season of "New Amsterdam"?
They are only airing 8 episodes this season, and their fate will be determined in May, so whoever is a fan and wants to see it picked up for next season, start with one of their fansites and get the word out to the network and the general public!!!
