Have people begun receiving their IRS 'stimulus' payment yet?
The timetable on the IRS' homepage states taxpayers should begin receiving them as early as April 28th, just wondering if anyone's received theirs already, and if it's been accurate to the timetable provided by the IRS. Thanks!
I went to HR Block's website where I filed electronically and had my 2007 refund directly deposited. They are stating that direct depositors who used their tax client software ill receive their refund via direct deposit as well...I'm hoping I get mine on Friday as originally estimated by the IRS...I logged onto the IRS's site to get the status of my refund, and they're still reporting it as May 9th, so we shall see...

My mother-in-law and her sister received their Direct Deposits, but we haven't. I basically have come to the conclusion we will get it when we get it.

Apparently the IRS is using 2 different software applications to process returns, so it depends on whether or not your return was randomly selected to use the "new" (quicker, therefor early) software.
I have a feeling that the people who were lucky enough to get the new software have already received their deposits, so we'll probably get ours on Friday at midnight.

Yes and yes..the timetable is pretty close. BUT:
Direct deposit of refund does not mean direct deposit of stimulus payment.
If you used a tax service or tax program and paid your fee with your anticipated refund, a 3rd party bank was involved and the IRS does not have your bank information so they will mail your stimulus check.
On the IRS website it also says to please allow 2 weeks from what is says on the schedule.

i work at a bank and i have seen some people get there checks, but not that many. 00 to 20 should have gotten them last week, this week is 21 to 75 and then next week is the rest. this is for people that used the direct dep. option. if you got a paper check then it could be a month or so.
