Does Cedric Benson's off-field run-in with the law put him in Lovie's doghouse?

If found guilty, will he get supspended by the league, and for how many games?

Update:

Sorry if I was misleading...I am in no way alluding that Benson should NOT be suspended by the league, and I am a die-hard Bears fan. The question was just put out there to get everyone's feedback. Thanks, and please keep the answers coming!

Since the Bears drafted a RB in the second round (His name escapes me), I expected Benson to be out this year anyway. With the zero tolerance policy established after the Tank Johnson incident, I expect he'll be released sooner than later./

He should already be in the doghouse, if he's not Lovie Smith isn't a good coach. He was atrocious last year, his stutter-stepping giving teams ample time to catch his sorry behind. I wouldn't be surprised if Benson is no longer a Bear come mid-season.

No, he's been in the doghouse for longer than that. There's a reason it took him til his third season to be the starter. His crappy attitude and his poor play. If the Bears were smart, they'd drop him like a bad habit.

Forget the doghouse, he's gonna find his way to the unemployment lines.

I no longer have confidence in Lovie Smith ( not as if i ever did ). I mean, he let Rex Grossman be his quarterback. He obviously is judgement impaired.

why do people think that athletes who break the law shouldn't be suspended by the league?
