Can we refrain from the personal comments about her? True, she didn't really work out at CBS but neither did Dan Rather but the network stuck with him anyway. He had even bigger shoes to fill because he followed Walter Cronkite, who was very popular and once called 'The Most Trusted Man In America". She clearly was out of her element. The network made a big mistake in hiring a big name instead of getting a relative unknown and allowing that person to build a viewing audience.

There is talk about seeing what happens through the Inauguration in 2009. We'll see. Katie is too good not to surface somewhere -- I'm just not sure she's in the right niche now. She certainly did wonders for the Today show.
